We have been engaged by The Hollies Pre-school, a registered charity, to provide quarterly management accounts and year end compliance services. The Hollies is an OFSTED Outstanding Pre-School which provides a safe and happy environment where children can grow and learn under the guidance and supervision of their dedicated and caring staff. Given that there are several pre-school and primary school age children within the families of our team, the Hollies provides a valuable service that we believe in and we welcomed the opportunity to support them in ensuring they have accurate, timely financial information to support decision making.
Our mandate includes the preparation of quarterly management accounts and year end reporting. In addition to this, Ellen Little sits on the Hollies committee to interpret the financial results of the organisation for the directors and to help forecast future financial performance. In the current operating environment, pre-schools are coming under significant pressure due to under-funding of free childcare hours and provision of up to 30 hours per child. This is exacerbated by increases to the Living Wage and other inflationary pressures. Being able to accurately forecast income and costs over the coming academic year has allowed the Hollies to continue to provide the highest quality childcare under challenging conditions, and we at Dow Schofield Watts Business Planning are proud to support this.
