We have provided financial modelling and bid support to Calvin on a variety of smart meter projects since 2015. Our initial assignment was to perform a model review on an external bid model and test the model under various sensitivity scenarios. Following the completion of this piece of work, we took the financial lead on the SSE smart meter foundation project. The objective on the SSE project was to be successful as preferred bidder and adapt the financial model to the specific complexities of the project, of which there were a number, in order to accommodate the requirements of the client. Calvin were successful as preferred bidder on the SSE project, which reached financial close in early June 2016. The financial model was used to calculate the portfolio price, which for this project included a number of already installed meters, and satisfied the banks that the project is financially robust.
Following on from this we now provide ongoing modelling support across a number of their smart meter projects and non-metering projects such as PV + battery storage and EV charging.
